How the 6 month Exec Programme works:
Initial Preparation
You’ll complete and submit a questionnaire and short career exercise to your coach 48 hours before your first coaching session. This will help you reflect on your current situation and what you want next, so you start making progress before we even meet!
Every Exec Programme is tailored towards your individual needs – however, an illustration of a programme is as follows:
Week 1 – a 90 minute Strategy Session
We’ll meet for your initial 90 minute coaching session, which will be customised to your requirements. We’ll start by getting a snapshot of your current situation and challenges and where you want to go. We’ll clarify your purpose, values, ambitions and goals. We’ll also work to identify key barriers in your life, common frustrations, areas where you tend to get stuck before co-creating a plan of action that we will work through together throughout the following 6 months where we will agree set deliverables for the programme. We’ll also identify at least 3 action steps for you to work on over the next week.
10 x 60 minute fortnightly coaching sessions
These 60 minute coaching sessions will be tailored to your individual needs and we will progress methodically together towards your goals.
We’ll dive deeper into your core values, unique strengths, transferrable skills and how to apply these to your career and personal marketing materials (CV, LinkedIn and personal narrative). At the end of each session, we will talk through next steps and actions to maintain progress between sessions.
Week 12 - a 30 minute Mid-Programme Accountability Call
We’ll do a follow-up call at the end of the first 12 weeks to review your actions and progress. This check-in is an opportunity to get further support, keep you accountable and on track towards your goals. At this stage, we may recommend one or two sessions with another coach from the Careers Unpacked team who specialise in particular topics of relevance to your journey.
Week 24 - a 90 minute capstone session
We will review your progress over the last 6 months and identify how you can best leverage what you have learned during the programme. This final check-in is an opportunity to get further support, keep you accountable and on track towards your goals.
Post Coaching Support (during the 24 weeks)
Following each coaching session, we’ll send you a summary of the key takeaways, your action steps for the following fortnight and the session recording for you to refer back to. You’ll also have email support in-between sessions or short scheduled check-in calls for the duration of your programme to provide accountability and navigate any challenges between sessions. That’s access to your Careers Unpacked Coach for a full 24 weeks to ask questions and navigate any challenges as you execute your action plan during the programme.

Your Investment in the ‘Career Relaunch Programme’
The Exec Programme is not for you, if you’re:
An early careers professional with less than 10 years work experience (this program is designed for emerging or established leaders),
Wanting someone to tell you exactly what to do — your Careers Unpacked Coach will be your mentor, accountability partner and will guide you to find the right answers for you, but ultimately, the decisions and compromises needed are up to you.
Wanting someone to act as a head-hunter and/or placement agent. Your Careers Unpacked Coach will not find your next role for you.
Not willing to re-evaluate your opinions or change your approach to career management.
Comfortable in your current position and aren’t ready to do the work required to make a change professionally.
WORDS OF CAUTION
Coaching at times, will stretch you beyond your comfort zone, it requires serious commitment and an investment in time, money and energy.
You will need to own your responsibility to take regular action to accomplish the goals you desire. No one else can do the work for you, but the results can be life-changing.
Coaching is most effective when the coach-client relationship is strong. That means finding someone whom you personally find credible, resourceful, and empathetic with your situation. Someone who “gets” you, yet someone who can offer fresh perspectives on things. You can get a sense of this during an initial consultation.
Next steps
The Careers Unpacked Exec Programme is an intensive, tailored programme, delivered over 6 months. You will need to have the time to dedicate to working on your strategic career plan between the bi-weekly sessions (on average you will need dedicated a minimum of 4 hours a week to this work), in addition to your 1 to 1 career coaching sessions.
At the end of the 6 months, you’ll have the option to upgrade to a further 3 months of coaching if you’d like ongoing accountability and support to create clarity, direction and a step-by-step strategy for your career.
